Covering an area of 2,000 square meters, Ericsson’s R&D Center was recently set up on the fourth floor of the “High-tech Hatchery” in Chengdu’s High-tech Zone. Ericsson (Chengdu) R&D Center was also renamed Ericsson Wireless Technology (Chengdu) Company Limited, a wholly-owned branch operation of Ericsson (China). The company’s first goal is to develop wireless telecom products based on GSM, CDMA and WCDMA standards for China and the rest of the world. Its research results will be turned into products by its local producing partners to be distributed by Ericsson’s global sourcing network.
