China has emerged as the world's second largest producer of fibre glass with an output rising by seven per cent annually to 500,000 tonnes.

China reported a favorable trade balance of about 60 million dollars of fibre glass during the first half of this year, the country's first trade surplus in the material in more than a decade.

Forty-six per cent of the country's fibre glass is shipped to the United States, South Korea and Hong Kong.
